| LLMRS Championship Night |
Port Angeles Speedway – Port Angeles, Wa. –
9-15-07 – The Limited Late Model Racing Series roared back into Port Angeles Speedway for the final race of the inaugural season.
John Boyatt clinched the Championship during qualifying, setting fast time of the night.
The Trophy Dash would see Jim “Juice” Jusilla take the win in front of Boyatt, leading from the pole for the entire 4-lap dash.
The Heat Race would be won by John Pokorney with Chris Schlaht holding down the second spot as he continued to fight for the number 2 spot in the Championship Standings.
11 cars would start the 100-lap Main Event with Jim “Juice” Jusilla on the pole. Several positions would change hands during the first few laps, with everything taking shape around lap 15 finding John Boyatt in the lead trying to put an exclamation point on his championship run. A 4-car breakaway began with Boyatt leading Jusilla, Steve Woods & “Terrible” Tim McDougald. The leaders would run nose to tail for the majority of the race, the real action being McDougald contesting the 3rd spot held by the #23 car of Steve Woods. This battle would wage for around 50 laps, McDougald finally getting the position with 20 to go.
Coming to the checkered flags, John Boyatt would take the win, with Jusilla and McDougald hard on his tail, Woods holding down the 4th spot.
John Boyatt would be crowned the Inaugural Series Champion, Chris Schlaht finishing 2nd and Jim “Juice” Jusilla 3rd. Boyatt also laid down the mark for the most Main Event wins in a single season at 3. |

Port Angeles Speedway – Port Angeles, Wa. –
9-15-07 – Wrapping up their inaugural season, the Limited Late Model Racing Series returns to Port Angeles Speedway. With a championship points battle that has been contested all season and some of the best racing action seen this year, this is one you don’t want to miss!
Crowning the first LLMRS Champion will be the order of the day. With 3 drivers separated by a mere 37 points, this championship will be up for grabs until the final lap. John Boyatt will be looking to maintain the lead he has held for the last 3 races, while Chris Schlaht looks to take the lead he lost back for himself. Sitting calmly in 3rd place is the #7 of Jim Jusilla, remaining in striking distance should one of the two leaders falter in any way.
Several other positions have yet to be determined as well, with the order shuffling after just about every race. Who will come out on top, who will drop to the bottom? At this time, it’s anyone’s guess.
Other drivers will be looking to win the final race of the season, having been eliminated from the championship already. Fresh off his best run of the season, the #68 of Tim McDougald will be looking to build on the momentum found at Spokane Raceway Park where he won his first Trophy Dash of the season, backing it up with a 3rd place run in the Heat & another 3rd place run in the Main where he edged Jusilla for the spot coming to the line in one of the best position battles seen in some time.
Look for the Limited Late Model Racing Series to provide the same excitement that has made this series one of the “can’t miss” shows of the season as they crown their first champion.
Also appearing with the LLMRS will be the Stock Cars & Dwarf Cars. |

Spokane Raceway Park – Spokane, Wa. –
8-25-07 –
The Limited Late Model Racing Series returned to Spokane Raceway Park for race 6 of the inaugural season.
12 teams were in attendance for this event providing plenty of on track excitement for the relatively small crowd on hand. Things were looking bad for a couple of LLMRS regulars as “Terrible” Tim McDougald lost his transmission during practice and championship contender Chris Schlaht lost his engine moments later. Moments after that Bob Hays, another championship contender, lost his engine during the practice session as well. In the spirit of what has become a tight knit group of guys, Bob Hays offered up his transmission from his car to the #68 HayWire Motorsports team and driver “Terrible” Tim McDougald while Gene Lynch handed over his car to Chris Schlaht for him to continue his assault on this inaugural championship battle.
Fast time was set by the #19 of Marc Oergel, who was not racing for points in an effort to help car count while driving a car that did not fully meet the LLMRS rules.
The Trophy Dash saw “Terrible” Tim McDougald take the lead from the outside of the front row and never look back, holding off a hard charging John Boyatt for the last two laps to bring home the win.
The real excitement came in the heat race where the #20 of Brad Stanwood spun in turn 2 contacting the #68 of “Terrible” Tim McDougald who was able to continue on. At the same time, the #7 of Jim Jusilla would contact the #00 of Brandon Penney sending Penney hard into the wall, ending his night. The restart found Stanwood relined in front of McDougald, and after taking the green flag the two again made contact ending with the #20 car of Stanwood hard in the wall ending his night as well. McDougald was able to continue on. The race would eventually be won by the #19 of Marc Oergel in front of championship leader John Boyatt with “Terrible” Tim McDougald in 3rd.
The main event saw championship contender Chris Schlaht in a borrowed car starting on the pole and quickly being overtaken by the field. In a race that ran flag to flag, the #19 of Marc Oergel easily took the win followed again by the #10 of championship leader John Boyatt. The real race was provided by the two cars battling for the 3rd spot. Jim Jusilla held the spot, but with 10 laps to go “Terrible” Tim McDougald would mount a late race charge. After trying the pass on the high side for those 10 laps, McDougald would finally make the move work as they came to the checkered flag edging out Jusilla for the 3rd spot by a nose. Jusilla would have to settle for 4th & Rusty Webb would round out the top 5.
The next event is scheduled for September 15th at Port Angeles Speedway. This will be the final race for the inaugural season of the Limited Late Model Racing Series. With the championship still mathematically up for grabs between 3 different drivers and several other points positions to be determined, be sure to catch this final showdown! |

| Boyatt Sweeps PA in Memory of Grandfather |
Port Angeles Speedway – Port Angeles, Wa. –
Story by: Kristy Runyon
July 28, 2007…The Limited Late Model Racing Series (LLMRS) made it’s first of two stops at Port Angeles Speedway on Saturday July 28th. The series is due back on September 15th to finish out their season on the newly paved oval. This was the 5th race for them. Their next race will be in Spokane on August 25th.
Unfortunately for Steve Woods, before his night even got started he had oil pressure and over heating problems and was unable to participate but did stick around to cheer on the rest of the group. Things didn’t look good for John Boyatt early in the night after breaking an axle but Tim McDougald and his team were able to let the Boyatt team borrow one and continue on with their night of racing. It was an important night to Boyatt that was dedicated to his Grandfather who recently passed away. He even led a Memorial lap in his Grandfather’s honor.
Tim McDougald set the fast time for the series with a 15.794. During the trophy dash, McDougald twisted his axle and was done for the night. The A dash was won by Boyatt and the B dash was won by Jim Jussila. John Pokorny took the early lead in the heat race. On lap 4, Bob Hays and Boyatt got together in turn three, sending them both to the back. Jussila and Chris Schlaht were now behind Pokorny. On the restart Jussila and Schlaht got together. Schlaht was sent to the back and Jussila had to take his car in. The entire back of the car was hanging off and would have been a danger to the other drivers. Martin Stanwood had a mechical problem and was pushed off the track on lap8. John Boyatt went on to win the heat race followed by Schlaht, Pokorny, Hayes and Bryan Payne.
The main event was set for 50 laps with Bob Hays and Chris Schlaht on the front row. A big thanks went out to the McDougald team for helping Jussila and his crew get their car all back together. The car started at the back but wouldn’t stay there long. Schlaht took the early lead but John Boyatt took over on lap 9. Boyatt and Schlaht stayed out front of the pack and began lapping the field. On lap 45 Schlaht blew up leaving Boyatt alone on the lead lap. Boyatt won the main event with Jussila in second and Martin Stanwood in third. Bob Hays was fourth and Bryan Payne was fifth.

| LLMRS Drops Anchor in Port Angeles |
| Port Angeles Speedway – Port Angeles, Wa. –
July 28, 2007 – Fresh off the heels of the mid-season point at Douglas County Speedway where the largest Limited Late Model field of the season showcased a 50-lap challenge with the local Douglas County Speedway drivers, the Limited Late Model Racing Series heads to Port Angeles, Washington for a 75-lap shoot-out on the fresh racing surface.
Current series point leader, John Boyatt; driver of the #10 Hi-Tech Collision Monte Carlo will be looking to stretch the lead that he regained after falling behind just two races ago. The points battle has really begun to heat up, with just 31 points separating the top four drivers. Fresh off one win followed by a second place finish, the #20 B&M Engines Monte Carlo of Brad Stanwood will be looking to gain as much ground as possible during what is quickly becoming the strongest late season charge seen in some time.
With a fresh racing surface, the Port Angeles Speedway lingers on the schedule as a virtual unknown for the entire list of LLMRS teams. Notes that once worked for car setups will most likely be scrapped as teams look for new answers to an all new list of questions. Some teams will quickly set sail, while others will be seeking shelter from the storm.
After seeing several local drivers join the LLMRS during the Douglas County Speedway race, the new series will once again welcome local Port Angeles Speedway regulars for this event. Look for another large field of Limited Late Models to take the green flag for the first of two stops in Port Angeles for this all new racing series.
Also appearing with the LLMRS will be the Modifieds & Hornets. |

Local driver Bobby Wright took the checkered flag against the largest Limited Late Model field of the season.
LLMRS regular Brad Stanwood finished second followed by local driver Ken Irving.
Local driver Dan Fouts and LLMRS regular Bob Hays rounded out the top-5.
The Limited Late Model Racing Series staged a “challenge race” with the Douglas County Speedway Late Model series merging the two for the 50-lap race held Saturday, July 14th. Douglas County Speedway regular Bobby Wright set fast time.
The fast dash would be won by the only LLMRS regular in the race, Brad Stanwood.
The A-Main saw the largest field of the season as 17 Late Models took to the 3/8th mile track. Pole sitter Tim McDougald would lead the field until the handling began to go away on his #68 Mauritsen Enterprises Grand Prix. John Pokorny and John Boyatt would battle for the lead, with Boyatt eventually putting his #10 Cope Bro’s, Hi-Tech Collision Monte Carlo out front for the first long run.
The #6 of Dan Fouts would eventually overtake Boyatt for the lead and hold it until the late stages of the race. After contact from Boyatt sent Fouts around, both would find themselves in the back of the pack, Fouts with heavy damage.
This incident would hand the lead to local driver Bobby Wright, who never looked back on his way to the checkered flag.

| Limited Late Model Racing Series Visits Douglas County Speedway - |
July 14, 2007 –
At the half way point in its inaugural season The Limited Late Model Racing Series (LLMRS) heads to Roseburg, Oregon, home of the Douglas County Speedway. With the points race firmly solidifying and the championship contenders beginning to reveal themselves, the core group of drivers head to the 3/8 mile oval hopefully to be joined by the local drivers for the 50 lap main event.
After successful events at Ephrata, Washington; Hermiston, Oregon & Spokane, Washington; the new series hopes to continue drawing new fans as well as new drivers as the season continues. The fast surface at Douglas County Speedway has always been a crowd favorite forcing teams to bring their “best stuff”. Adding to the challenge of a fast technical track will be the local drivers who bring their own “home field advantage”. With a tight battle for the championship developing between Jim Jussila, John Boyatt, Chris Schlaht & John Pokorny it could very well be the local guys who will determine the outcome after the mid season mark. Look for some fierce competition and close racing as the Limited Late Model Racing Series arrives for the first time at Douglas County Speedway. |
| Stanwood Good For Spokane- |
Congratulations to the #20 B&M Engines team and driver Brad Stanwood on their win at Spokane Raceway Park. The next scheduled event is July 14th at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon. |
